“Once more into the breach, dear friends!” This is a reasonably famous quote, I wonder how many people know who said it, to whom and when.
But on another note, my book finally made it to the local author’s shelf of our local Barnes &Noble Bookstore, though I don’t know how long it will sit there. I’m also not sure how long i will be able to be online this time, not because I have to share the computer this time, but more because I haven’t really slept yet today, and today is game day in one of the nearby towns close to where we live.
At least I have had a chance to eat today. My hubby set up a fundraiser for me so we would have enough money to pay the PG&E bill this month, because if that doesn’t happen, we will lose our place to live, and that would put a severe crimp in my writing.
I had hoped that publishing a book would improve our fortunes, but it doesn’t seem to have changed much about us. In a way, that may be a good thing, but I don’t know for sure. I will know more when it starts to sell. So far, I haven’t been paid for any of the books that have been sold except the ones that I have sold personally, directly to people. And of the three of them that have gone out, only two have been paid for, and both of them have gone to the same person. I have other possibilities, but I will not be sure until I have the money in my hands.
Anyway, enough of this negativity!! At least the book is on the website, and in the store finally! That is all that should matter, at least in regards to that topic. And maybe now things will get better for us. After all, someone has already donated 10 $ to the fundraiser, so it’s a start.
