I know, I haven’t been as up to date as I could be with this, but I have been busy doing other, equally important things, like getting my website up and running– even though that won’t happen until I have the form from my design crew…!– and trying to keep myself from being driven crazy by the continual stories of further violence that I can personally do nothing to fix.
If there was any way for me to fix it with one wave of a ‘magic wand’ I would, but unfortunately, that is way out of my ability.
My magic is limited to writing as well as I can and making wall hangs that take up almost no space until they are hung, and bring beauty and color to any room.
Other than that, there doesn’t seem to be much i can do to fix what is broken in our society, save to suggest that it is time for people to grow up and get over their petty hatreds. Accept the fact that we are all humans, and that the planet belongs to ALL of us and be done with it!
I know that is a pretty tall order, but maybe this time it will work; maybe this time a few people will be listening to me when I say how nice it would be to just be nice to people for a change… maybe. But I doubt it.
No one listens to me; they are all too busy listening to themselves ranting about how oppressed they are, especially if they are white and male. As though white males are the only ones who have EVER suffered…!! After all, it was women who got them here in the first place… and look what we have to go through to KEEP them here!!
There are people who believe that the white supremacists, and the KKK should all be sent out of the country for what happened in Charlottesville, and in many ways, i agree, but I wish there was some way to get the people who believe that violence is their only recourse to see that they are wrong, even though I know that won’t happen in my lifetime, or even the lifetime of the next three generations. Hate has been a part of life on Earth since almost the beginning of time, and nothing I say or do will permanently affect that, unfortunately.
That men– and white men, at that– are the only ones to suffer is a gigantic load of horse pucky, and they know it! They are simply AFRAID to admit it, even to themselves.
But as my opinion is well known by now, I will simply say that tolerance for all is the ideal, and something worth striving toward, not killing the only hope any of us have of fixing what is wrong with our culture!
