Today, in the News…

November 17th, 2017

The rains have finally come to Shadow County again! Can snow be far behind? It is to be hoped by many that the first snowfall of the season won’t be too long in coming, now that we finally have had somewhat more regular rain fall again for the past couple weeks.

But there was a far more reliable indicator of the change of the year; Lady Lathomier and her sisters began their annual harvesting operations for the mushroom crops three weeks ago, and they brought in several hundred pounds over the course of the first week. But the rain will slow down some of the growth of some species, Lady Lathomier said, when she was interviewed by this reporter as she and her teams headed back to the Shadow County Farmer’s Market to begin setting up their displays for tomorrow’s Market Day. This week’s session will be indoors due to the expected rain, but other than that, she said that nothing had changed with their plans.

In other news, the page count keeps growing. After a brief setback, Miss Skye reports that she is about to clear 1060 pages on the next book, and she is firmly on track to make the deadline for her next– highly anticipated–novel regarding Lady Lathomier’s early college years. The projected length of the book is something like nearly quadruple the length of her first one, at Lady Lathomier’s insistence, but it should be done by the end of Marake, she said. We will see, though.
